ARPA Grant Benefits
Thanks to the Biden Administration, ARPA funds from the COVID-19 relief were dedicated to Harris County. Part of those funds, in the amount of 9.1 million dollars were given to the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation to help improve Department of Labor registered apprenticeship programs within the county. The different union programs apart of this grant have been able to increase class size and reach, get new equipment used in their industries, help provide new and updated training to their membership and more.
Union apprenticeships are a proven path to prosperity where apprentices become journeyworker’s in their field and are the best of the best. Union workers do their jobs correct the first time providing long term benefits for the community and businesses.
